Download 1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE 1998-99 BRAKES Anti-Lock/TCS – ABS-VI – Cars. DTC C1233: RIGHT FRONT WHEEL SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT OPEN OR SHORTED 1. Perform diagnostic system check. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step. 2. Turn ignition off. Spray right front wheel speed sensor jumper harness thoroughly with a 5 percent saltwater solution (2 teaspoons of salt to 12 ounces of water). Disconnect EBCM/EBTCM connector C1 (“W” body), connector C2 (“J” body, Cutlass and Malibu) or 32-pin connector (Achieva, Alero, Grand Am and Skylark). Pass the cables using the original fairlead located behind the servobrake group. The procedure for 99-newer model year vehicles is currently under development. Step 1 (97-98) Remove the (3) 13mm bolts holding the fender – radiator support brace. This step is not pictured. Step 2 (97-98) Loosen the wing nut on the large clamp securing the ribbed duct, and remove the duct from the plastic air box outlet as shown. Step 3 (97-98) Remove the IAT (Intake Air Temp) sensor from the rubber duct. Save for reinstallation on your replacement duct. Step 4 (97-98) Pull the duct from the throttle body. Download 1. Remove fuel tank filler cap. Listen for fuel pump operation noise at fuel tank filler. Fuel pump should operate for 2 seconds after ignition switch is turned on. If fuel pump operates as specified, fuel pump is okay. If fuel pump does not operate as specified, go to next step. 2. Turn ignition switch off. Remove rear seat or trunk floor to gain access to fuel pump connector. Disconnect fuel pump connector. Disconnect PGM-FI main relay connector. Connect a fused jumper wire between PGM-FI main relay connector FUEL PUMP fuse side terminal and fuel pump side terminal. See L – WIRING DIAGRAMS article. 3. Turn ignition switch on. Using a voltmeter connected to ground, check for battery voltage at fuel pump harness side connector. See L – WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
