Download : Prior to removal of the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor, set cylinder No.1 to zero degrees Top Dead Center (TDC) of compression stroke. Then note the position of the CMP sensor electrical connector. The installation procedure requires that the connector be located in the same position. 1. Disconnect battery ground cable. NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy. 2. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring connector from CMP sensor. 3. Remove retaining screws and CMP sensor from sensor housing. 4. If removing CMP sensor housing from the cylinder block, proceed with Removal Step 5. If not removing sensor housing, proceed to installation Step 6. 5. Remove hold-down clamp (bolt and washer assembly) . 6. Remove CMP sensor housing from cylinder block.… Read More

Download 1. Please read through the entire instruction sheet to familiarize yourself with the parts of the vehicle the installation will deal with. 2. Start the engine and check for loose connections or coolant/vacuum leaks, etc. 3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. 4. Remove the air filter duct, all vacuum hoses, water (coolant) hoses and electrical connectors from the stock throttle body. Mark all hoses and wires to ensure that they are installed correctly on the new throttle body. Note: Engine coolant may run from the hoses once removed. 5. Disconnect the throttle linkage by opening the throttle manually and slipping the cable from the cam groove on the linkage. 6. Remove the four nuts securing the throttle body to the intake manifold and remove it. 7. Remove the MAP (see Figure 1 for MAP sensor location) sensor from the factory throttle body. Use the new O-ring with the blue stripe from the kit contents to seal the MAP sensor to the throttle body.… Read More

1997 Buick Riviera Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Performance

Download 1997 Buick Riviera | Aurora, Riviera (VIN G) Service Manual DTC P0341 Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Performance. Circuit Description The camshaft position PCM input is produced by the ignition control module. The ICM produces the camshaft position PCM input by filtering the camshaft position (CMP) sensor pulses when the engine is running and CKP sync pulses are also being received. The PCM uses the camshaft position PCM input pulses to initiate sequential fuel injection and to determine crankshaft position for the misfire diagnostic. The PCM constantly monitors the number of pulses on the camshaft position PCM input circuit and compares the number of camshaft position PCM input pulses to the number of 18X reference pulses and the number of 3X reference pulses being received. If the PCM receives an incorrect number of pulses on the camshaft position PCM input circuit, DTC P0341 will set and the PCM will initiate injector sequence without the camshaft position PCM input with a one in six chance that injector sequence is correct.… Read More

2002 Saturn SL DTC P0122

Filed Under (Saturn) by admin on 31-03-2014

Download The throttle position (TP) sensor is a potentiometer that varies resistance according to changes in throttle plate position. The powertrain control module (PCM) measures the signal voltage from the TP sensor which is a reduced value of the PCM 5-volt reference. The voltage ranges from 0.4 (+/-0.2) volts at 0% throttle position to 4.7 volts at wide open throttle. DTC P0122 sets when the TP sensor signal voltage at the PCM is below the calibrated voltage value. DTC Parameters DTC P0122 will set if TP sensor voltage is less than 0.2 volts when: z The condition exists for longer than 10 seconds. z The ignition is ON. DTC P0122 diagnostic runs continuously with ignition ON. DTC P0122 is a type A DTC. Diagnostic Aids Important If DTC P1635 is set, diagnose that DTC first. 2002 Saturn SL
