Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 02-06-04-037E (Section 06 — Engine/Propulsion System). Condition Some customers whose vehicles are operated in dusty type environments, such as farming or mining off*road type applications, may comment about the illumination of the check engine light, with a DTC of P0446 (Restricted/Blocked EVAP Vent Path) being set. Cause Dirt and dust intrusion into the EVAP canister vent hose assembly, resulting in restricted air flow, may cause this condition. Correction (1999-2007 Classic/Old Style Models) After following the published SI diagnostics for P0446 and determining that the EVAP canister vent valve is the cause of the MIL light, replace the existing EVAP canister vent valve assembly with a new assembly.… Read More

1984-1995 Honda Civic/CRX Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) System

Filed Under (Honda) by Doe Namblas on 31-12-2013

Download SERVICE Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Valve For PCV valve removal, refer to Routine Maintenance of this information. 1. Locate the PCV valve. With the engine running at idle, use pliers to pinch the PCV hose between the valve and the intake manifold. It should be possible to hear the spring loaded valve click shut. 2. If no click is heard, remove the valve from the engine but leave it connected to the intake manifold. A hissing sound should be heard and vacuum should be felt at the valve inlet. 3. If no vacuum is felt, remove the valve from the intake manifold hose. The engine should stall or almost stall. This will indicate a stuck valve or clogged hose. Check the breather hose for clogging or leaks and replace any defective parts. DTC P0442 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Small Leak Detected

Filed Under (Other Manuals) by Doe Namblas on 17-01-2014

Download DTC P0442 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Small Leak Detected Refer to Engine Controls Routing Diagram, EVAP Control System Overview . System Description This DTC tests the evaporative emission (EVAP) system for a small leak. The control module monitors the fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor signal to determine the vacuum decay rate. At an appropriate time, the control module turns the EVAP canister purge valve ON and the EVAP vent valve ON. This allows the engine to draw a vacuum on the EVAP system. At a calibrated time, or vacuum level, the control module turns the EVAP canister purge valve OFF, sealing the system, and monitors the FTP sensor input in order to determine the EVAP system vacuum decay. If the control module detects a leak larger than a calibrated amount, this DTC sets. The following table illustrates the relationship between the ON and OFF states, and the Open or Closed states of the EVAP canister purge and vent valves.… Read More

Audi TT A.W.E. Tuning DV1 Diverter Valve

Filed Under (Audi) by Doe Namblas on 27-12-2013

Download 1.8T Audi TT, VW Golf/Jetta/New Beetle. Step 1: Here’s an overview picture of the transverse 1.8T engine found in the Audi TT, VW Golf/Jetta/New Beetle 1.8T. The 225hp TT engine looks a little different, but the install of the A.W.E. Tuning valve is the same procedure. For picture clarity, and ease of install, the decorative engine cover has been removed. Removing the cover is easily done by twisting the “+” shaped fasteners on the cover 90 degrees. They’ll pop up when free, allowing you to grab the cover and lift it up and out of the engine bay. (New Beetle requires removing 2 10mm nuts hidden under trim caps, and then sliding forward and out) We’ve also removed the PCV damper in the following pictures for clarity. You won’t need to remove this item to install the valve. Installation instructions for A.W.E. Tuning DV1 Diverter Valve For 1.8T Audi TT, VW Golf/Jetta/New Beetle Thank you for purchasing the A.W.E.… Read More
