DTC P0442 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Small Leak Detected

Filed Under (Other Manuals) by admin on 17-01-2014

Download DTC P0442 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Small Leak Detected Refer to Engine Controls Routing Diagram, EVAP Control System Overview . System Description This DTC tests the evaporative emission (EVAP) system for a small leak. The control module monitors the fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor signal to determine the vacuum decay rate. At an appropriate time, the control module turns the EVAP canister purge valve ON and the EVAP vent valve ON. This allows the engine to draw a vacuum on the EVAP system. At a calibrated time, or vacuum level, the control module turns the EVAP canister purge valve OFF, sealing the system, and monitors the FTP sensor input in order to determine the EVAP system vacuum decay. If the control module detects a leak larger than a calibrated amount, this DTC sets. The following table illustrates the relationship between the ON and OFF states, and the Open or Closed states of the EVAP canister purge and vent valves.… Read More

2002 Saturn SL DTC P0122

Filed Under (Saturn) by admin on 31-03-2014

Download The throttle position (TP) sensor is a potentiometer that varies resistance according to changes in throttle plate position. The powertrain control module (PCM) measures the signal voltage from the TP sensor which is a reduced value of the PCM 5-volt reference. The voltage ranges from 0.4 (+/-0.2) volts at 0% throttle position to 4.7 volts at wide open throttle. DTC P0122 sets when the TP sensor signal voltage at the PCM is below the calibrated voltage value. DTC Parameters DTC P0122 will set if TP sensor voltage is less than 0.2 volts when: z The condition exists for longer than 10 seconds. z The ignition is ON. DTC P0122 diagnostic runs continuously with ignition ON. DTC P0122 is a type A DTC. Diagnostic Aids Important If DTC P1635 is set, diagnose that DTC first. 2002 Saturn SL
To locate an intermittent problem, use a scan tool to monitor TP SENSOR voltage with ignition ON, engine OFF.… Read More

Download . Circuit Description The torque converter clutch (TCC) brake switch is used to indicate the status of the brake pedal (applied or released). If the PCM detects an open TCC brake switch (stuck ON) during accelerations, then DTC P0719 sets. DTC P0719 is a type C DTC. Conditions for Running the DTC * No VSS DTCs P0502 or P0503. * DTC P0719 has not passed this ignition cycle. Conditions for Setting the DTC The TCC brake switch input is at 0 volts for 15 minutes and the following conditions occur 8 times without a status change on the TCC brake input: * The vehicle speed is less than 8 km/h (5 mph). * The vehicle accelerates to 32 km/h (20 mph) within 2-6 seconds. * Then the vehicle speed remains above 32 km/h (20 mph) for 6 seconds. Action Taken When the DTC Sets * The PCM does not illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL).… Read More

Download P0505 (14) DTC P0505: Idle Control System Malfunction NOTE: If DTC P1519 is stored at same time as DTC P0505, troubleshoot DTC P1519 first, then recheck for DTC P0505. 1. Start the engine. Hold the engine at 3,000 rpm with no load (in Park or neutral) until the radiator fan comes on. 2. Check the engine speed at idle with no-load conditions: headlights, blower fan, rear window defogger, radiator fan, and air conditioner off. Is the engine running at 730+/-50 rpm? 3. Disconnect the idle air control (IAC) valve 3P connector. Does the engine speed increase or fluctuate? 4. Turn the ignition switch OFF. 5. Remove the intake air duct from the throttle body. 6. Start the engine and let it idle. 7. Put your finger on the lower port (A) in the throttle body. Does the engine speed drop below 780 rpm? YES – Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time.?… Read More

Filed Under (Lexus) by admin on 09-12-2013

Download NOTE: This is the only information provided by the manufacturer for reading diagnostic trouble codes for this system. If compressor lock occurs during A/C operation, the A/C switch indicator on the A/C control assembly starts blinking. When this occurs, check for compressor lock (DTC B1422) using diagnosis trouble code check then proceed to inspect the circuit or the component. Compressor lock sensor circuit. (See DTC B1422 Compressor Lock Sensor Circuit) By operating each of the A/C control switches as shown in the diagram, it is possible to enter the diagnosis check mode. a. Turn the ignition switch on while pressing the A/C control AUTO switch and R/F SW simultaneously. b. Check that all the indicators light up and go off at 1 second intervals 4 times in succession. a. Perform an indicator check. After the indicator check is completed, the system enters the DTC check mode automatically. b. Read the DTC displayed on the panel.… Read More
