Download 2″ Lift 1992-96 F150 822 1992-97 F250*, F350* 822 3″ Lift 1992-96 F150 823 1992-97 F250*, F350* 823 Intake air duct 1. Remove intake air duct from top of radiator and throttle body. Fan shroud 1. Remove two bolts securing fan shroud to top of radiator. Pull fan shroud up and out of clips that secure fan shroud to bottom of radiator. Smog canister 1. Remove two bolts securing smog canister to passenger side fender well. Move canister about 5″ toward engine. Drill two new holes and install canister with stock hardware. This will allow the hose to reach the canister after cab has been lifted. Steering shaft (under dash) 1. Strap steering wheel to prevent accidental move- ment. 2. Download 1. Disconnect battery ground cable (14301) . 2. Remove two console armrest mounting access covers (047A62) at rear of console panel (045A36) (snaps out) to gain access to armrest retaining bolts. 3. Remove four armrest-to-floor bracket retaining bolts and remove armrest assembly (snaps out of console). 4. Remove console panel gear shift plate (044G24) (snaps out). On vehicles equipped with manual transmissions, shift boot is attached to bottom of finish panel. Remove shift knob and slide boot and console panel gear shift plate up shift lever to remove. 5. To remove top finish panel position emergency brake lever in the UP position. Remove four retaining screws and lift top finish panel up. Disconnect necessary wire connectors. 6. Download REMOVAL Step 1 Before you begin – let vehicle cool for about an hour. Disconnect battery. Raise vehicle and support on jack stands. The higher you raise it, the easier it is to work under. If your installing a new transmission and converter, skip to STEP 3 Step 2 Drain oil from transmission by removing the drain plug. This is a good time to install a TCI® Drain Plug Kit, TCI® #805800. Pans without plug must be slowly removed by freeing one end and allowing bolts on other end to hold pan. The pan will drop down to allow the fluid to run out the end. Use a drain pan to catch fluid. Remove remainder of bolts and slowly lower pan and pour remainder of fluid in drain pan. Replace filter and clean pan and install new pan gasket. (New gaskets and filters available from TCI®).
