Shown in Figure 1. Remove the black plastic trim at the top of Fig. 1 by pulling up ( 2004 only ). Careful not to break any attachment points. To begin removal of the induction runner, remove the two Phillips head screws at the front of the car (Fig. 2). Once this is complete the runner can be pulled back toward the firewall. Download Kit Part # 51/54-10322. Complete kit. Make sure you have all the components before you begin your installation. Complete stock intake. a. Remove two screws holding factory fresh air duct in place. b. Pull fresh air duct out of vehicle and save for later use a. Remove two screws holding top half of airbox in place. b. Loosen clamp holding factory tube in place. c. Unplug MAF Sensor Remove top half of factory airbox. Remove clamp holding top breather filter on factory tube. Remove clamps holding second breather from top of factory tube. Save elbow for later use. Remove clamps holding third breather filter from top of factory tube. Download Installation of AEM® intake system. a. When installing the intake system, do not completely tighten the hose clamps or mounting hardware until instructed to do so. b. Remove the transmission mount bracket nut closest to the front of the car. Install the supplied transmission bracket over the stud and replace the nut. Refer to the picture for correct orientation. Torque the transmission mount bracket nut to 54 N-m (5.5 kgf-m, 40 lbf-ft). (Fig. 9) c. Install the 2.50″ x 2″ hose on to the throttle body with two 2.50″ hose clamps. d. Check to see that the inside of the AEM® intake pipes and air filter are clean and free from any foreign objects and/or obstructions. e. The 225hp TT engine looks a little different, but the install of the A.W.E. Tuning valve is the same procedure. For picture clarity, and ease of install, the decorative engine cover has been removed. Removing the cover is easily done by twisting the “+” shaped fasteners on the cover 90 degrees. They’ll pop up when free, allowing you to grab the cover and lift it up and out of the engine bay. Download Vacuum Brake Booster Check Valve and/or Hose Replacement Removal Procedure 1. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum check valve (1) from the brake booster. 2. If the vacuum check valve (1) needs to be separated from the vacuum hose (3), release and reposition the clamp (2) on the vacuum hose (3) and remove the check valve (1) from the hose (3). 3. If replacing the vacuum check valve (1), remove the grommet (4) from the brake booster and discard the grommet. 4. If removing the vacuum hose (2), take note of the vacuum hose routing then disconnect from the engine intake manifold connection (3) by releasing tension on the vacuum hose clamp (1) and sliding the vacuum hose (2) off the intake manifold connection (3).
