Ford C-4 Bracket and Lever Installation Instructions

Download STEP 1. Raise and safely support the vehicle at least 1-2 feet off the ground. Remove the nut and lock- washer holding the downshift linkage onto the downshift lever shaft. The downshift lever is the outer lever on C-4 transmissions. Pull the lever off the shaft and allow the linkage to hang free. Remove and discard stock shift linkage rods. Late C-4 transmissions have a Neutral safety/Backup light switch on the transmission shift lever. If your transmission is so equipped, remove the two bolts holding the switch in place and slide it off the shift shaft. Disconnect the switch at the factory plug and discard it. STEP 2. Install the B&M selector lever, See figure 1 . Note: The B&M lever must point downward for proper operation. If the stock shift lever on your transmission points down, you will have to remove the lower part of the stock arm by cutting it off to clear the B&M lever, (See figure 1 ) .… Read More

Download Remove 1. Move the selector lever to position “N”. 2. Raise the vehicle. 3. Unhook the loops for the rear exhaust pipe. 4. Detach the front heat shield and slide it backwards. 5. Detach the bracket for the front exhaust pipe from the transmission crossmember and swivel it downwards. NOTE: Support the automatic transmission with a transmission jack. 6. Changes to be made to the original parts in order to have a correct mounting of the Bacci-production gear-box. 1. Installation of the supplied lock plate for the two ball bearings. In the kit we supply n° 4 hexagonal head bolts, n° 2 bearing locking rings (Seeger- type) and a lock plate (see photo n°1). The kit has to be applied to the central box of the gear group (photo n°2) and it modifies the production model bearing locking system. The 4 bolts and the 2 rings replace the original parts. PROCEDURE: CLUTCH LEVER STEP 1 Read and understand all steps in the instructions before starting the installation. Park the motorcycle on a hard, level surface and turn off the ignition. STEP 2 Tighten the cable adjustment screw on the clutch perch in toward the lever to gain adequate slack for removing the clutch cable. STEP 3 When you have enough slack in the cable, you can remove the cable from the lever by lining up the slot on the adjustment screw and removing the cable from the lever. STEP 4 Remove the hardware that secures the lever to the perch.
