Ford Mustang Fuel Injection Conversion

Filed Under (Ford) by admin on 04-05-2012

Download These instructions will provide the basic and necessary information to allow a carbureted 302 to be converted to SEFI Fuel Injection. There are several different types of fuel injection conversions available, however, this instruction will concentrate on the High Output, MASS-AIR setups found on the 92-93 Ford Mustangs. There are two main advantages to using this type of setup. The first advantage is that the computer in the MASS-AIR system will automatically compensate for any engine modifications that have been done prior to the installation of the fuel injection system. The second advantage is that fuel is sent to each cylinder individually only during the appropriate firing cycle, meaning that fuel is sent sequentially to each cylinder only when the spark plug is ready to fire. This makes for an extremely efficient firing cycle . SEFI stands for Sequential Electronic Fuel Injection. This system is complex to be sure, therefore, this instruction is going to skip all the technical mumbo-jumbo, and focus on the bare essentials to install this system properly.… Read More

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Due to the extreme torque values of the 460 & 429 Ford V8 engines, it will be mandatory that you install a limit strap or straps to the driver’s side and passenger side engine mount. This limiting strap will prevent the engine from torquing beyond the limits of the rubber vulcanization. The straps should be installed with approximately 1/2″ tension reserve. This will permit the engine to torque up to 1/2″ in the motor mount area without causing any problem to the motor mount itself. Warranty on engine mount separation will be void if the limiting straps are not in place. The replacement of the small Ford V8 and straight 6 cylinder engines have become quite popular in Ford trucks.… Read More

2002 Ford Escort Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding Workshop Manual

Download Draining 1. Bring the engine to normal operating temperature and turn the engine off. With the cooling system under pressure, inspect cooling system hoses and clamped hose connections for leaks, excessive deterioration or contact wear. Inspect radiator installation retention. Note any discrepancies and proceed. 2. WARNING: Never remove the pressure relief cap while the engine is operating or when the cooling system is hot. Failure to follow these instructions can result in damage to the cooling system or engine or personal injury. To avoid having scalding hot coolant or steam blow out of the degas bottle when removing the pressure relief cap, wait until the engine has cooled, then wrap a thick cloth around the pressure relief cap and turn it slowly. Step back while the pressure is released from the cooling system. When you are sure all the pressure has been released, (still with a cloth) turn and remove the pressure relief cap.… Read More

2006 FORD FOCUS MIDGET ENGINE OWNERS MANUAL

Filed Under (Ford) by admin on 05-01-2014

Download 1. COOLING SYSTEM The Focus Midget engine is equipped with an opposite rotation water pump impeller, and the water pump pulley turns in the opposite direction when compared to the street version of the engine. This does not reverse the coolant flow through the engine, it simply allows the pulley to be driven with the HTD belt instead of using the back-side of a serpentine belt. No modifications to the water pump impeller or water pump pulley are allowed. Coolant exits the head at the cast elbow located at the rear of the engine, and enters the engine at the pump. Since the engine runs on methanol, and the compression ratio has not been raised, excessive heat is generally not a problem. Therefore, a standard Midget-type radiator has proven more than adequate. High pressure, racing radiator caps have not been needed to maintain acceptable temperatures, 16 lb. caps have been adequate.… Read More

1999-2000 Honda 1.6L DOHC Civic Si VORTECH Supercharger System Installation Instructions

Filed Under (Honda) by admin on 22-02-2014

Download For best performance and continued durability, please take note of the following key points: 1. Use only premium grade fuel 92 octane or higher (R+M/2). 2. The engine must have stock compression ratio. 3. If the engine has been modified in any way, check with Vortech prior to using this product. 4. Always listen for any sign of detonation (pinging) and discontinue hard use (no boost) until problem is resolved. 5. Perform an oil and filter change upon completion of this installation and prior to test driving your vehicle. Thereafter, always use a high grade SF rated engine oil or a high quality synthetic, and change the oil and filter every 3,000 miles or less. Never attempt to extend the oil change interval beyond 3,000 miles, regardless of oil manufacturer’s claims as potential damage to the supercharger may result. 6. Before beginning installation, replace all spark plugs that are older than 1 year or 10,000 miles with original heat range plugs as specified by the manufacturer and retard timing from factory specifications (follow the procedures indicated within the factory repair manual and/or as indicated on the factory underhood emissions tag).… Read More

They are intended to work with the original pulse generators, mechanical advance and ignition coils. These units do not incorporate advance/retard. WARNING: RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK ALWAYS TURN OFF BEFORE WORKING ON THE SYSTEM BEFORE FITTING, PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY, INCLUDING THE NOTICE ON PAGE 8. Good quality resistor plug caps should be fitted to the h.t. leads (e.g. NGK/DENSO 5K resistor type); these are standard equipment on most machines. Alternatively, resistor spark plugs can be used. Attempting to run the system without resistor type caps and/or plugs will result in excessive radio frequency interference (r.f.i.), which may cause bad running, misfiring and loss of ignition. Carbon fibre leads may be used, but for reliability we recommend copper or steel cored h.t.… Read More
