Download The transmission solenoid/TRS assembly is internal to the transmission and mounted on the valve body assembly. The assembly consists of six solenoids that control hydraulic pressure to the six friction elements (transmission clutches), and the torque converter clutch. The pressure control solenoid is located on the side of the solenoid/TRS assembly. The solenoid/TRS assembly also contains five pressure switches that feed information to the TCM. OPERATION SOLENOIDS Solenoids are used to control the L/R, 2C, 4C, OD, and UD friction elements. The reverse clutch is controlled by line pressure and the position of the manual valve in the valve body. All the solenoids are contained within the Solenoid and Pressure Switch Assembly. The solenoid and pressure switch assembly contains one additional solenoid, Multi-Select (MS), which serves primarily to provide 2nd and 3rd gear limp-in operation. The Acclaim tow bar may be used, but will not fold and store on the front of the vehicle. Adapters, except the BX8833 and BX88151, can not be used with this baseplate. Installation Instructions: 1. Remove 12 push pins from the plastic piece covering the top of the under carriage with a fl at screwdriver. Windshield part numbers are DW1681 and DW1714. 2. Cover the front seats, floorboards, dash and steering wheel with a clean drop cloth or disposable plastic covers. 3. Drape a fender cover over the fender and tape up any vulnerable areas on the vehicle to protect against damage. Tape up the defroster vents to prevent debris from falling into the openings. 4. Download 1. Fully clean the cylinder head intake flanges and the engine block end seal surfaces. 2. Apply Edelbrock Gasgacinch sealant PN 9300 to both cylinder head flanges and to the cylinder head side of the gaskets, allow to air dry, and attach the intake gaskets. (Refer to instructions on Gasgacinch can for further reference). If you are using two-piece gaskets with a seperate tray, the valley pan will contact the cylinder heads with the gaskets resting on top. Both sides of the gaskets and pan should be coated with a layer of Gasgacinch. 3. Do not use cork or rubber end seals. Use RTV silicone sealer instead. Apply a ¼” high bead across each block end seal surface, overlapping the intake gasket at the four corners. This method will eliminate end seal slippage. 4. Download Installation is the same as for original equipment cylinder heads. Consult service manual for specific procedures, if necessary. Be sure that the surface of the block and the surface of the head are thoroughly cleaned to remove any oily film before installation. Use alcohol or lacquer thinner on a lint-free rag to clean. Apply oil or suitable thread lubricant to head bolt threads and the underside of bolt heads and washers to prevent galling and improper torque readings. Use thread sealant on any bolts that go into coolant passages. Torque top row of bolts to 110 ft./lbs. and bottom row of bolts to 100 ft./lbs. in three or four steps, following the factory tightening sequence (See Figure 1) .
