Download SELF-DIAGNOSTICS – EEC-V (DIESEL) -2000 Ford Pickup F250 Super Duty EXHAUST BACKPRESSURE (EBP) SENSOR. Perform this test when directed by QUICK TEST. This test is intended to diagnose: Exhaust Backpressure (EBP) Sensor • Wiring Harness Circuits (SIG RTN, VREF & EBP Signal) • Powertrain Control Module (PCM) • 1) DTC P0470 This DTC indicates PCM detected EBP sensor malfunction during KOEO ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST. Possible causes for this DTC are: Faulty EBP Sensor • Open Or Shorted Circuit • Faulty PCM • Ensure scan tool is connected to Data Link Connector (DLC). Using scan tool, select EBP PID from PID/DATA monitor menu. If EBP reading is less than 18.5 psi, clear DTCs. Repeat KOEO ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST . If DTC is still present, replace PCM. If EBP reading is 18.5 psi or more, go to next step. 2) Check Signal Ground Circuit Turn ignition off. Disconnect EBP sensor connector. Sensor is located on top front of engine.… Read More

Download DTC P0442 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Small Leak Detected Refer to Engine Controls Routing Diagram, EVAP Control System Overview . System Description This DTC tests the evaporative emission (EVAP) system for a small leak. The control module monitors the fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor signal to determine the vacuum decay rate. At an appropriate time, the control module turns the EVAP canister purge valve ON and the EVAP vent valve ON. This allows the engine to draw a vacuum on the EVAP system. At a calibrated time, or vacuum level, the control module turns the EVAP canister purge valve OFF, sealing the system, and monitors the FTP sensor input in order to determine the EVAP system vacuum decay. If the control module detects a leak larger than a calibrated amount, this DTC sets. The following table illustrates the relationship between the ON and OFF states, and the Open or Closed states of the EVAP canister purge and vent valves.… Read More

Relieve fuel pressure by loosening banjo bolt on top of fuel fi lter. Disconnect the fuel line at fuel rail. It is recommended that the washers be replaced. Next, disconnect the fuel injector harness holder and unbolt. Disconnect hoses from fuel pressure regulator (FPR). 2. Disconnect intake tubing/pipe from throttle body. Next, disconnect all hoses leading to intake manifold and throttle body, including throttle cable bracket on manifold. On throttle body, disconnect throttle positions sensor (TPS) and map sensor. 3. Unbolt manifold bracket from engine block and intake manifold. This bracket will not be used in assembly and installation. Remove intake manifold, throttle body, and fuel rail as one unit. Inspect intake manifold gasket. Replace as needed. Make sure to note all disconnect hoses and sensors.… Read More

Tests/Procedures: 1. Check the right side (passenger side) Intake Valve Timing Control Position (IVTCP) sensor for 12 volts on the Black/White wire. 2. Check the IVTCP sensor for a good ground on the Black wire. 3. Scope the Yellow/Green signal wire and look for a square wave signal of around 8 volts. Check the pattern of the right side sensor and if unsure of the pattern, compare it to the left bank sensor. Potential Causes: IVTCP Sensor Wiring — IVTCP sensor wiring/connection. Tech Tips: This code is for the right (passenger) bank IVTCP Sensor or sensor circuit. The right and left bank sensors can be swapped from side to side to see if the code will follow the sensor.… Read More

1. Locating the Speed Sensor coupler
- The ignition key should be in OFF position.
- Raise the rear wheel off the ground by using a stand.
Make sure the rear wheel spins freely.
- Remove the seat.
The Speed Sensor is usually located on the top of the gearbox and reads the revolution
of the countershaft.
The 3-pole speed sensor coupler is situated 10-30 cm (4″-12″) away from sensor.
The connector is usually accessible by raising the fuel tank or removing a side fairing.
If the speedometer is driven off the front wheel, the sensor coupler is usually in the
If in doubt, check the bike’s Service Manual or ask your dealer for the location of the
Speed Sensor coupler.
Separate the Speed Sensor coupler (you might need to use a small flathead screwdriver
to get the coupler apart). Rotate the rear wheel while the ignition is on.… Read More
