Download SELF-DIAGNOSTICS – EEC-V (DIESEL) -2000 Ford Pickup F250 Super Duty EXHAUST BACKPRESSURE (EBP) SENSOR. Perform this test when directed by QUICK TEST. This test is intended to diagnose: Exhaust Backpressure (EBP) Sensor • Wiring Harness Circuits (SIG RTN, VREF & EBP Signal) • Powertrain Control Module (PCM) • 1) DTC P0470 This DTC indicates PCM detected EBP sensor malfunction during KOEO ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST. Possible causes for this DTC are: Faulty EBP Sensor • Open Or Shorted Circuit • Faulty PCM • Ensure scan tool is connected to Data Link Connector (DLC). Using scan tool, select EBP PID from PID/DATA monitor menu. If EBP reading is less than 18.5 psi, clear DTCs. Repeat KOEO ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST . If DTC is still present, replace PCM. System Description This DTC tests the evaporative emission (EVAP) system for a small leak. The control module monitors the fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor signal to determine the vacuum decay rate. At an appropriate time, the control module turns the EVAP canister purge valve ON and the EVAP vent valve ON. This allows the engine to draw a vacuum on the EVAP system. At a calibrated time, or vacuum level, the control module turns the EVAP canister purge valve OFF, sealing the system, and monitors the FTP sensor input in order to determine the EVAP system vacuum decay. If the control module detects a leak larger than a calibrated amount, this DTC sets. Relieve fuel pressure by loosening banjo bolt on top of fuel fi lter. Disconnect the fuel line at fuel rail. It is recommended that the washers be replaced. Next, disconnect the fuel injector harness holder and unbolt. Disconnect hoses from fuel pressure regulator (FPR). 2. Disconnect intake tubing/pipe from throttle body. Next, disconnect all hoses leading to intake manifold and throttle body, including throttle cable bracket on manifold. On throttle body, disconnect throttle positions sensor (TPS) and map sensor. 3. Unbolt manifold bracket from engine block and intake manifold. This bracket will not be used in assembly and installation. Remove intake manifold, throttle body, and fuel rail as one unit. Relocating the Stock ECU 1) Referring to the pictures below, locate the vehicle’s stock ECU. 2) Disconnect the negative battery cable. 3) Disconnect the electrical connectors from the stock ECU. Avoid excessive stress or pulling on the wires, as this may damage the harness. Do not cut any of the wires in the factory harness to remove them. 4) Unscrew all mounting hardware and remove the stock ECU. 5) Relocate the stock ECU in a spot that best suits your needs.
