Download Power Steering Warning Message Displayed in DIC, IPC/Radio Displays Erratic, DTC C0900, B1325 Set (Replace Ignition Coil/Module Assembly and Add Ground Strap) Models: 2004-2006 Chevrolet Malibu, Malibu Maxx with 3.5L Engine (VINs 8, N — RPOs LX9, LZ4) Condition Some customers may comment on a loss of power steering assist at high RPM (above 3500 RPM) and a power steering warning message displayed in the DIC. They may also comment some instrument/radio displays are erratic. Upon investigation, the technician may find DTC C0900 set. If the displays were erratic, then DTC B1325 will also be set. Cause This condition may occur when the system voltage exceeds 16 volts for one second for code C0900 and the system shuts down to protect it from over-voltage operation. If the voltage exceeds 18 volts for five seconds for code B1325, then other electronic systems protect themselves and shut down. It has been found that this voltage increase is caused by an interaction between the alternator and the ignition coil/module assembly.… Read More

Disconnect the compressor leveling module connector and check the resistance from the positive battery voltage circuit of the exhaust solenoid valve and the control circuit of the exhaust solenoid valve. The 1100F allows for easy interfacing between the remote start and the factory immobilizer, while maintaining the integrity of the OEM system. The factory transponder-based anti-theft system uses a small electronic chip hidden in the key to send a code to the vehicle’s transceiver when the ignition is energized. The key must be placed in the ignition and turned to the RUN position. This energizes a coil surrounding the key, which in turn energizes the chip, which sends a code to the vehicle. If the vehicle does not detect the code being sent, the vehicle will start and then immediately shut off or will just crank, and the anti-theft light will flash. STEP 1 Before installation be sure to turn the ignition off. STEP 2 Remove the original car head unit as per the manufacturers instructions. Note that some car head units are code protected and you are advised to know what this code is before you remove it. STEP 3 Disconnect all wiring looms from the rear of the head unit.
Part2: Installation of the Sony head unit and display adapter.
STEP 1 Plug the 14 pin connector of the supplied loom into the adapter. STEP 2 Plug the unilink connector and 3.5mm jack plug from the supplied loom into the back of the Sony head unit. (write down preset channels for later use) •Disconnect Negative battery terminal. •Remove battery positive terminal, tie down clamp, battery and plastic tray. •Remove engine cover around throttle body on intake manifold (A). •Remove stock air box lid and filter. •Disconnect Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor, remove upper intake hose and clamps (B). •Remove air box mounting bolts and nut. Rotate air box forward and out.
