Download These instructions will provide the basic and necessary information to allow a carbureted 302 to be converted to SEFI Fuel Injection. There are several different types of fuel injection conversions available, however, this instruction will concentrate on the High Output, MASS-AIR setups found on the 92-93 Ford Mustangs. There are two main advantages to using this type of setup. The first advantage is that the computer in the MASS-AIR system will automatically compensate for any engine modifications that have been done prior to the installation of the fuel injection system. The second advantage is that fuel is sent to each cylinder individually only during the appropriate firing cycle, meaning that fuel is sent sequentially to each cylinder only when the spark plug is ready to fire. This makes for an extremely efficient firing cycle . SEFI stands for Sequential Electronic Fuel Injection. This system is complex to be sure, therefore, this instruction is going to skip all the technical mumbo-jumbo, and focus on the bare essentials to install this system properly.… Read More

Download Ford : 2000-2007 Taurus 2000-2003 Windstar 2004-2007 Freestar MERCURY: 2000-2005 Sable 2004-2007 Monterey. ISSUE: Some 2000-2007 Taurus, 2000-2005 Sable, 2000-2003 Windstar, and 2004-2007 Freestar/Monterey vehicles, equipped with a 4F50N, AX4N, or AX4S transaxle, may exhibit an erratic fluid level reading on the transaxle dipstick and possible leaks around the filler tube and grommet. The condition may be due to a restricted transaxle vent. ACTION: Repair the transaxle vent restriction by replacing the transaxle vent with a 90° vent stem, small hose clamp, two (2) tie raps, and 24″ (61 cm) of 5/16″ (8 mm) vacuum hose. The 5/16″ (8 mm) vacuum hose will be routed from the 90° vent on the transaxle back to the cowl area, next to the brake master cylinder and tie rapped in place with the end of the hose facing down. Refer to the following Service Procedures. SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.… Read More

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Due to the extreme torque values of the 460 & 429 Ford V8 engines, it will be mandatory that you install a limit strap or straps to the driver’s side and passenger side engine mount. This limiting strap will prevent the engine from torquing beyond the limits of the rubber vulcanization. The straps should be installed with approximately 1/2″ tension reserve. This will permit the engine to torque up to 1/2″ in the motor mount area without causing any problem to the motor mount itself. Warranty on engine mount separation will be void if the limiting straps are not in place. The replacement of the small Ford V8 and straight 6 cylinder engines have become quite popular in Ford trucks.… Read More

Download -IMPORTANT LUBRICANT NOTE- The Auburn Gear limited-slip differential design has been extensively tested with high quality non-synthetic 80W90 hypoid oils treated with GM or Ford friction additives (3 oz. of additive will treat 1 quart of oil). To avoid differential clutch chatter (noise) and for optimum performance, use the oil and additive described above. Use of other additive and oil types may cause differential clutch chatter. Ford Part Number: C8A219B546A GM Part Number: 1052358 PINION SHAFT MODIFICATION Certain “C” clip axle applications with high gear ratios will require pinion shaft modification due to the thickness of the ring gear. The thick ring gear will prohibit the pinion shaft from being removed making “C” clip installation impossible. Use the following procedure to modify the pinion shaft. 1. Modification to be 90º to the pinion shaft lock screw hole as shown. It is recommended that this be accomplished through grinding. 2. Remove sharp edge from modified section by buffing.… Read More
