Download REMOVAL 1. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ASSEMBLY (w/o Rear Lower Spoiler ) a. Put protective tape around the rear bumper assembly. b. Using a screwdriver, open the 2 rear bumper plates. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. c. Remove the 6 screws and 2 clips. d. Disengage the 12 claws and disconnect the rear bumper assembly as shown in the illustration. HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side. e. Remove the rear bumper assembly. 2. REMOVE REAR FLOOR BOARD (w/ Rear Lower Spoiler ) a. Download Cleaning procedure using a paper towel and grease remover or lacquer thinner, thoroughly clean area on car where the double face tape will come in contact with the painted surface. Do not allow thinner or cloth to remain on car too long as it can cause damage to the painted surface. Using either of the recommended adhesion promoters on a clean lint free cloth, apply a thin, uniform coating to the bonding surface, using the minimum amount that will fully coat the surface. Allow promoter to dry completely before attempting installation of the part. 1) front bumper replacement open the hood and remove the factory clips along the center of the factory front bumper. Download To install studs : Remove a main bolt (main cap can be removed or left in place), tap threads, coat coarse threads with oil, screw stud in by hand, thread 2 main nuts on tray stud and lock them tightly together, lightly tighten tray stud 10-15 ft/lbs (making very sure that double nuts are not slipping or have run into the main cap), remove the 2 main nuts, coat the fine threads with oil, install the stud washer and nut, torque main stud with oil to torque spec of 65 ft/lbs for 7/16″ or 85 ft/lbs for 1/2″ studs, install 1 silver tray adjusting nut on the 3/8″ fine thread with the serrated face towards you (away from the engine). Do all the required studs locations to mount the tray in this fashion. You are now ready to mount the tray assembly. To install tray : Once all necessary tray studs have been installed properly, consult the special considerations section for the initial tray height and correct width, adjust the tray nut to this height, slide tray assembly into place and onto mounting studs, make sure that tray is supported equally by all studs (no wobble), the install the 2nd silver tray nut with the serrations toward the tray and torque with oil to 35 ft/lbs.… Read More

Download 1. Place the truck on a flat surface and chock the front wheels. Jack up the rear of the truck so the rear wheels are about 1/4″ off the ground. Place a jack stand under each side of the frame in front of the rear wheels. 2. Remove the spare tire. Next unhook the wires that go to the license plate light and to the rear back up sensors (if the truck has them). Also remove the trailer hitch wiring harness from the trailer hitch. Remove the two bolts in each side of the frame that hold the bumper bracket and bumper in place. Remove the bumper. 3. Remove the bolts that hold the trailer hitch in place and remove the lower shackle bolt. Next use a torch, plasma cutter or rivet buster to break the rivet heads off the factory shackle hanger. 4. Download TOOLS & PARTS I USED – Mag-Hytec Ford 10.5 rear differential cover – Redline #57914 75W140 gear oil, 6 quarts – 1/2″ socket & ratchet (cover bolt removal) – Flat screwdriver – Torque wrench – Drain pan – Several rags – Plastic putty paddle – Small funnel – Lacquer thinner – 1/4″ allen wrench (new cover bolt install) PROCEDURE Here’s a few pics of the Mag Hytec cover. Its a very impressive cover, complete with additional oil capacity, a magnetic dipstick, a drain plug, a 1/8 NPT port (for a temperature sending unit), and an o-ring to seal to the rear diff case.
