Download REMOVAL Step 1 Before you begin – let vehicle cool for about an hour. Disconnect battery. Raise vehicle and support on jack stands. The higher you raise it, the easier it is to work under. If your installing a new transmission and converter, skip to STEP 3 Step 2 Drain oil from transmission by removing the drain plug. This is a good time to install a TCI® Drain Plug Kit, TCI® #805800. Pans without plug must be slowly removed by freeing one end and allowing bolts on other end to hold pan. The pan will drop down to allow the fluid to run out the end. Use a drain pan to catch fluid. Remove remainder of bolts and slowly lower pan and pour remainder of fluid in drain pan. Replace filter and clean pan and install new pan gasket. (New gaskets and filters available from TCI®). Reinstall pan and torque pan bolts to OEM specs.… Read More

Installation of this baseplate requires removing the two plastic belly pans and the vehicle’s tie down brackets. For CRX models, the air dam must also be removed and either permanently left off or cut. The plastic belly pans will be cut on all models. 1989 & Newer Honda Automatics All Honda and Acura automatic transmission vehicles, any model, any year, can be towed without special pumps or drive shaft disconnects. Please note however that Honda and Acura automatic transmissions for 1989 & newer were modified so they cannot be shifted rapidly from reverse to drive. Rapid shifting from reverse to drive can damage any automatic transmission. Honda advises that the modification leaves a portion of the automatic transmission in reverse when it is only shifted from reverse to neutral. This partial neutral condition cannot be detected by revving the engine, because the car will not move even though a portion of the transmission is still in reverse.… Read More

2005 Dodge Truck Dakota TRANSMISSION SOLENOID/TRS

Filed Under (Dodge) by admin on 21-01-2014

Download The transmission solenoid/TRS assembly is internal to the transmission and mounted on the valve body assembly. The assembly consists of six solenoids that control hydraulic pressure to the six friction elements (transmission clutches), and the torque converter clutch. The pressure control solenoid is located on the side of the solenoid/TRS assembly. The solenoid/TRS assembly also contains five pressure switches that feed information to the TCM. OPERATION SOLENOIDS Solenoids are used to control the L/R, 2C, 4C, OD, and UD friction elements. The reverse clutch is controlled by line pressure and the position of the manual valve in the valve body. All the solenoids are contained within the Solenoid and Pressure Switch Assembly. The solenoid and pressure switch assembly contains one additional solenoid, Multi-Select (MS), which serves primarily to provide 2nd and 3rd gear limp-in operation. The solenoids receive electrical power from the Transmission Control Relay through a single wire. The TCM energizes or operates the solenoids individually by grounding the return wire of the solenoid as necessary.… Read More
