Download 1. Remove fuel tank filler cap. Listen for fuel pump operation noise at fuel tank filler. Fuel pump should operate for 2 seconds after ignition switch is turned on. If fuel pump operates as specified, fuel pump is okay. If fuel pump does not operate as specified, go to next step. 2. Turn ignition switch off. Remove rear seat or trunk floor to gain access to fuel pump connector. Disconnect fuel pump connector. Disconnect PGM-FI main relay connector. Connect a fused jumper wire between PGM-FI main relay connector FUEL PUMP fuse side terminal and fuel pump side terminal. See L – WIRING DIAGRAMS article. 3. Turn ignition switch on. Using a voltmeter connected to ground, check for battery voltage at fuel pump harness side connector. See L – WIRING DIAGRAMS article. SHOP TIP: pocket removal is really not required for 2003 and newer, but you might find it makes the installation easier. 1. Remove the right fairing pocket. This is done by opening the pocket and removing 4 fasteners: 2001 only. All 4 of your fasteners are the same. Push the center of the fastener with a small screwdriver until it “pops”. After all 4 are disengaged, gently and slowly pull the pocket up. 2002 & newer. The 2 fasteners closest to the handlebars are phillips head screws. The remaining 2 are pop fasteners. Push the center of the fastener with a small screwdriver until it “pops”. After all 4 are disengaged, gently and slowly pull the pocket up. 2. CENTRAL UNIT POSITION Position the modular systems and the modules under the dashboard on the drivers side.
POWER SUPPLY + 30: connect to the free faston at position 5 on the front part of the fuse box. – 31: connect with a ring terminal to one of the terminals coming out of the original power supply on the left lateral side, drivers side.
IGNITION WIRE + 15/54: connect to the YELLOW/BLACK wire of the 6 way brown connector of the fuse box.
DIRECTION INDICATORS Connect to the 1,5 mm2 GREEN/BLUE and YELLOW/GREEN wire located in the 20 way green connector at the centre of the fuse box.

Remove Factory Radio NOTE : To remove the radio, the center dash panel surrounding the radio must be removed. There are three (3) phillips screws that secure this dash panel to the main dash assembly. However, (1) one of the screws is hidden behind the clock. STEP 1 : The clock unsnaps from the dash panel, but requires a very small flat head screwdriver or similar flat tool. Insert the tool into the side gap between the edge of the clock assembly and the dash panel. GENTLY, pry out that edge of the clock. Insert your fingers into the gap and pull firmly to completely remove the clock from the dash panel. Once the clock has been pulled out, unplug the plastic connector attached to the rear of the clock. STEP 2 : Once the clock assembly has been removed locate and remove one (1) phillips screw.
