Download 2000 Chevy Truck S10/T10 Blazer 4WD V6-4.3L VIN W Vehicle Level Transmission and Drivetrain Transfer Case Service and Repair NVG 233/243-NP1 Transfer Case Replacement. Removal Procedure 1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting. 2. Remove the front propeller shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement- Front. 3. Remove the rear propeller shaft. REMOVAL: 1) Disconnect the negative battery cable(s). 2) Place the transmission into the Neutral (N) position. 3) Raise the vehicle on a hoist. 4) Mark the drive shaft and pinion yokes for assembly alignment. On 4WD models, remove the skid plate. 5) Remove the transmission oil filter tube nut and filler tube. 6) Position a drain pan & disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tubes at the cooler bypass valve. 7) Remove the drive shaft. On 4WD models, remove the front drive shaft & transfer case assembly. Download 1. Drain the coolant. 2. Remove the fan and shroud. 3. Remove the drive belt . 4. Using the J 41240, secure the water pump pulley and remove the water pump pulley bolts. 5. Remove the J 41240. 6. Remove the water pump pulley. 7. Loosen and remove the water pump bolts. 8. Remove the water pump. 9. Clean and inspect the water pump. 10. Discard and replace the gasket. Installation Procedure 1. Install a new water pump gasket. 2. Install the water pump and secure the water pump with the bolts.
