With the cooling system under pressure, inspect cooling system hoses and clamped hose connections for leaks, excessive deterioration or contact wear. Inspect radiator installation retention. Failure to follow these instructions can result in damage to the cooling system or engine or personal injury. BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR REPLACEMENT REMOVAL PROCEDURE 1. If equipped, remove the IP sound insulator. 2. Disconnect the electrical connection from the blower motor . 3. Disconnect the electrical connection from the blower motor resistor. 4. Remove the blower motor resistor retaining screws. 5. Remove the blower motor resistor. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE 1. INFORMATION SUBJECT: TIMING CONNECTOR LOCATION CHANGE MODELS: 1994 CHEVROLET AND GMC C/K TRUCKS WITH GASOLINE ENGINES The timing connector, which can be disconnected to return engine timing to base for adjustment purposes, has been moved from the engine compartment to inside the cab. This new location is not currently reflected in the Service or Owner’s Manual. The new location is under the dash directly below the glove compartment. The tan/black wire is routed for a short distance outside of a large wiring harness. This large harness is routed between the heater blower motor and evaporator case. The timing connector is taped to the wire bundle (Figure 1).

Remove the J 41240. 6. Remove the water pump pulley. 7. Loosen and remove the water pump bolts. 8. Remove the water pump. 9. Clean and inspect the water pump. 10. Discard and replace the gasket. Installation Procedure 1. Install a new water pump gasket. 2. Install the water pump and secure the water pump with the bolts. Refer to the appropriate steps when servicing individual lines. Perform the following procedure when removing the cooler lines from the quick connect fittings. 1. Pull the plastic cap back from the quick connect fining and down along the cooler line about 5 cm (2 inch) . 2. Using a bent-tip screwdriver, pull on one of the open ends of the retaining ring in order to rotate the retaining ring around the quick connect fining until the retaining ring is out of position and can be completely removed. 3.
