Download 1. Remove fuel tank filler cap. Listen for fuel pump operation noise at fuel tank filler. Fuel pump should operate for 2 seconds after ignition switch is turned on. If fuel pump operates as specified, fuel pump is okay. If fuel pump does not operate as specified, go to next step. 2. Turn ignition switch off. Remove rear seat or trunk floor to gain access to fuel pump connector. Disconnect fuel pump connector. Disconnect PGM-FI main relay connector. Connect a fused jumper wire between PGM-FI main relay connector FUEL PUMP fuse side terminal and fuel pump side terminal. See L – WIRING DIAGRAMS article. 3. Turn ignition switch on. Disconnect the upper and lower air inlet hoses from the resonator and remove the resonator. 4. Remove the air cleaner housing. 5. Locate the radiator cooling fan relay on the left front inner frame rail just behind the radiator (Figure 1). 6. Disconnect the radiator fan relay wiring connector. 7. Remove the radiator fan relay. Discard the relay and the attaching screws. 8. Install the new radiator fan relay using the supplied screws. Tighten the screws to 35 in-lbs (4 N.m). CAUTION: Do not over torque screws. Download 1. Remove the right and left frame side covers and the seat. 2. Unplug and remove the stock horn located behind the left foot peg. Re-route the horn wires up over the front cylinder head and to the rear. Next cut two pieces of wire 36″ long, strip both ends ¼”, crimp two male spade terminals to one end and two females to the other ends. Attach these wires to the stock horn wires and route them over the rear cylinder and behind the frame tube. The end of the wires should come out near the center of the left side cover area (see photo 1 A).
