DESCRIPTION: These high-efficiency intercoolers feature a bar and plate core with cast aluminum end tanks. Intercooler #15009 is designed for 1996-2000 Honda Civics, while #15036 is for 1992-1995 Honda Civics, and #15037 is designed for 1994-2001 Acura Integras. Modification of the stock bumper cover is required, aftermarket bumper covers may or may not need modification. Intercooler #15009 features a 22″long, 6″wide, 2.5″ thick core, while #15036 &15037 feature a 22″long, 5.5″wide, and 2.5″thick core. Hose connections for all intercoolers are 2.5″diameter.
1. Installation of the intercooler requires removal of the front bumper cover. Follow your factory service manual for removal and reinstallation of the bumper cover. 2. Disconnect the MAF from the ducting and set aside. B. Remove the air box, fresh air tube, battery, battery box and all remaining components running to the inlet of the motor. C. Remove the Battery/Air Box support bracket: 1. Support the driver’s side of the transmis- sion. 2. Remove four nuts securing the bracket to the driver’s side engine mount. 3. Remove three nuts that retain catalytic converter to the stock manifold. 4. Unplug and unclip oxygen sensor wires. There are two sensors; one is located above the catalytic converter, and the second sensor is located below the catalytic converter. The wiring for the lower sensor is clipped to the electric fan bracket. 5. Remove E.G.R. line from catalytic converter. 6. Remove the two bolts retaining the catalytic converter pipe to the intermediate pipe and the two bolts for the catalytic pipe bracket. 7.
