Download 1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE 1998-99 BRAKES Anti-Lock/TCS – ABS-VI – Cars. DTC C1233: RIGHT FRONT WHEEL SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT OPEN OR SHORTED 1. Perform diagnostic system check. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step. 2. Turn ignition off. Spray right front wheel speed sensor jumper harness thoroughly with a 5 percent saltwater solution (2 teaspoons of salt to 12 ounces of water). Disconnect EBCM/EBTCM connector C1 (“W” body), connector C2 (“J” body, Cutlass and Malibu) or 32-pin connector (Achieva, Alero, Grand Am and Skylark). See EBCM/EBTCM LOCATION under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using DVOM, measure resistance between speed sensor signal high circuit and speed sensor signal low circuit of EBCM/EBTCM connector. On “W” body, resistance should be 1020-1137 ohms at 68°F (20°C). On “J” body, Achieva, 1998 Grand Am and Skylark, resistance should be 1530-1870 ohms at 68°F (20°C). On Alero, Cutlass, 1999 Grand Am and Malibu, resistance should be 950-1250 ohms at 68°F (20°C).… Read More
Download SELF-DIAGNOSTICS – EEC-V (DIESEL) -2000 Ford Pickup F250 Super Duty EXHAUST BACKPRESSURE (EBP) SENSOR. Perform this test when directed by QUICK TEST. This test is intended to diagnose: Exhaust Backpressure (EBP) Sensor • Wiring Harness Circuits (SIG RTN, VREF & EBP Signal) • Powertrain Control Module (PCM) • 1) DTC P0470 This DTC indicates PCM detected EBP sensor malfunction during KOEO ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST. Possible causes for this DTC are: Faulty EBP Sensor • Open Or Shorted Circuit • Faulty PCM • Ensure scan tool is connected to Data Link Connector (DLC). Using scan tool, select EBP PID from PID/DATA monitor menu. If EBP reading is less than 18.5 psi, clear DTCs. Repeat KOEO ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST . If DTC is still present, replace PCM. If EBP reading is 18.5 psi or more, go to next step. 2) Check Signal Ground Circuit Turn ignition off. Disconnect EBP sensor connector. Sensor is located on top front of engine.… Read More

Condition Some customers may comment on intermittent illumination of the Service 4WD light. Upon investigation, the technician may find DTC C0374 set. The customer may also comment on intermittent erratic operation of the 4WD or AWD system after driving through rain/snow or simply going through a car wash. Cause The speed sensor signal may have become corrupted. Possible openings in the speed sensor wire insulation (twisted pairs) can allow water intrusion. Also, wire connections contaminated by water may result in short circuits and erroneous speed sensor readings. This most often occurs on the rear speed sensor circuit.… Read More

1. Locating the Speed Sensor coupler
- The ignition key should be in OFF position.
- Raise the rear wheel off the ground by using a stand.
Make sure the rear wheel spins freely.
- Remove the seat.
The Speed Sensor is usually located on the top of the gearbox and reads the revolution
of the countershaft.
The 3-pole speed sensor coupler is situated 10-30 cm (4″-12″) away from sensor.
The connector is usually accessible by raising the fuel tank or removing a side fairing.
If the speedometer is driven off the front wheel, the sensor coupler is usually in the
If in doubt, check the bike’s Service Manual or ask your dealer for the location of the
Speed Sensor coupler.
Separate the Speed Sensor coupler (you might need to use a small flathead screwdriver
to get the coupler apart). Rotate the rear wheel while the ignition is on.… Read More
