Download 1996 Chevrolet Chevy K Pickup – 4WD | Chevy Pickup, GMC Pickup, Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon (VIN C/K) Service Manual DTC P1351 Ignition Coil Control Circuit High Voltage. Circuit Description The enhanced ignition system uses the crank sensor in order to provide the timing input to the VCM. The VCM uses this reference pulse in order to determine the individual ignition spark timing for each cylinder. Once the VCM calculates the ignition timing, the ignition coil module on the IC circuit receives the timing signal. Each timing pulse received by the ignition coil module on the IC circuit triggers the coil module in order to operate the ignition coil. The secondary ignition voltage is induced, and then the secondary ignition voltage is sent to the distributor for distribution to each spark plug. This DTC is a type A DTC. The IC signal voltage ranges from about 0.5 volt to 4.5 volts.… Read More

Download CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE IGNITION SWITCH IS OFF!! The wire from the ignition switch to the ignition coil primary terminal is NOT fused in many applications. If this wire is allowed to touch vehicle or engine ground, with the ignition switch on, it can cause a direct short on the battery possibly causing permanent damage to the vehicle wiring and a fire. Cypress Engineering assumes no liability for damage caused from this occurrence or due to any faults in the existing vehicle wiring. 5. Remove the ignition switch wire from the ignition coil primary positive (+) terminal. Make sure this wire does not come into contact with vehicle or engine ground. 6. Remove the ignition coil and mounting strap from the fan housing and set them aside. 7. Remove the stock distributor and set it aside. 8. Install the Compu-Tronix DIS4-2.3 L Ford Electronic Distributor. Tighten the clamp just enough so that the distributor can still be turned by hand.… Read More

Download . Circuit Description The torque converter clutch (TCC) brake switch is used to indicate the status of the brake pedal (applied or released). If the PCM detects an open TCC brake switch (stuck ON) during accelerations, then DTC P0719 sets. DTC P0719 is a type C DTC. Conditions for Running the DTC * No VSS DTCs P0502 or P0503. * DTC P0719 has not passed this ignition cycle. Conditions for Setting the DTC The TCC brake switch input is at 0 volts for 15 minutes and the following conditions occur 8 times without a status change on the TCC brake input: * The vehicle speed is less than 8 km/h (5 mph). * The vehicle accelerates to 32 km/h (20 mph) within 2-6 seconds. * Then the vehicle speed remains above 32 km/h (20 mph) for 6 seconds. Action Taken When the DTC Sets * The PCM does not illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL).… Read More

Product Description : The Honda/Acura Immobilizer anti-theft system uses a low-power transponder mounted in the head of the ignition key. When the vehicle is started, the Key Cylinder Module converts the transponder signal and sends a secure, coded signal to the Engine Control Module. If the signal to the Engine Control Module is correct, the vehicle will start.
Installation Instructions : 1. Remove steering column shroud to gain access to the wire harnesses at the rear of the ignition switch. 2. Locate the appropriate wires exiting the ignition switch and immobilizer receiver. The wire colors are listed in the Wire Color Guide . 3. Wire the 555H as shown in the wiring diagram.
Wire Connection Guide : BLUE/WHITE: Connect this wire to the (-) key sense wire at the ignition cylinder.… Read More
