Download The 555F interface module is used when installing remote start products in Ford, Toyota and Lexus vehicles equipped with factory immobilizers. The 555F allows for easy interfacing between the remote start and the factory immobilizer, while maintaining the integrity of the OEM system. WIRE CONNECTION GUIDE FOR FORDS RED (+)12V: Connect this wire to a fused (+)12V source. BLUE (-) ACTIVATION INPUT: Connect this wire to the (-) through activation output of the remote start system. 555FCAPSULE: The 555F capsule should be placed on the outside of the antenna ring as close to the ribbon cable as possible. LEARNING THE 555F CAPSULE FOR FORDS To program the 555F capsule for a Ford vehicle, use the procedure that corresponds to the appropriate vehicle year. 1996 and 1997 Ford Vehicles: 1. Install the remote start and make the appropriate wire connections on the 555F. 2. Make sure that the 555F capsule can reach the front of the key cylinder where the key is inserted.… Read More
Download When performing service around Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system components or wiring, the SIR system must be disabled. Failure to do so could result in possible air bag deployment, personal injury, or unneeded SIR system repairs. Catera Disconnect the negative battery cable. 1. Remove the steering wheel. 2. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. 3. Insert a small pointed awl or wire into the ignition lock cylinder release pinhole. 4. Pull out the ignition lock cylinder. 5.Fig. Insert a pointed tool into the release pin hole To install: Install the lock cylinder. Look into the hole that receives the lock cylinder on the lower RH side in order to locate the locking lever. 1. Carefully push down on the locking lever using a small flat-bladed tool until an audible click is heard. 2. Place the lock cylinder into the empty hole. 3. 6. The system is standard equipment on each of the applied vehicles listed above. The IVIS/NATS will not allow the engine to start without the use of a registered ignition key. If a vehicle will not start and the Security lamp is on solid, it may be because the ignition keys were not properly registered into the vehicle’s NATS IMMU (Immobilizer control unit). In this case, there will be a “DIFFERENCE OF KEY” code stored in the NATS IMMU. When the NATS ignition key, IMMU, or ECM (ECCS control unit) are replaced, C/U initialization is necessary. It is also necessary when registering keys and as part of many NATS Service Manual diagnostic procedures.… Read More

Download 1996 Chevrolet Chevy K Pickup – 4WD | Chevy Pickup, GMC Pickup, Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon (VIN C/K) Service Manual DTC P1351 Ignition Coil Control Circuit High Voltage. Circuit Description The enhanced ignition system uses the crank sensor in order to provide the timing input to the VCM. The VCM uses this reference pulse in order to determine the individual ignition spark timing for each cylinder. Once the VCM calculates the ignition timing, the ignition coil module on the IC circuit receives the timing signal. Each timing pulse received by the ignition coil module on the IC circuit triggers the coil module in order to operate the ignition coil. The secondary ignition voltage is induced, and then the secondary ignition voltage is sent to the distributor for distribution to each spark plug. This DTC is a type A DTC. The IC signal voltage ranges from about 0.5 volt to 4.5 volts.… Read More

Download Models: 2005-2007 Chevrolet Cobalt 2005-2006 Pontiac Pursuit (Canada Only) 2007 Pontiac G5 with Automatic Transmission 4T45-E (RPO MN5) Condition Some customers may comment on any of the following concerns: Cause 1 The shifter button may be sticking in the handle. Cause 2 The pin that activates the micro-switch may have moved out of position (refer to illustration above). This causes the micro-switch to fail to engage when the vehicle is placed in Park. If this condition is present, the customer will not be able to remove the key from the ignition. The illustration above shows the switch in a correct position. Cause 3 Metal flashing left in the cylinder may cause a high effort to rotate the key. Cause 4 The slider may be binding in the guides. This may cause the shifter to become difficult to operate. Correction 1 Verify that the shifter button is inoperative by evaluating if the park pawl pin on the shifter
assembly moves when activating the button.… Read More

If the ignition switch is misindexed in one direction, the ignition switch circuits will not be completely open when the ignition switch is in the OFF position with the key removed.… Read More
Product Description: The Honda Prelude Immobilizer anti-theft system uses a low- power transponder mounted in the head of the ignition key. When the vehicle is started, the Key Cylinder Module converts the transponder signal and sends a secure, coded signal to the Engine Control Module. If the signal to the Engine Control Module is correct, the vehicle will start. The 555D uses a unique automatic program sequence to learn the secure code from the Key Cylinder Module and repeats it when remote start is activated, eliminating the need to leave a key in the vehicle.
Installation Instructions: 1. Remove steering column shroud to gain access to the wire harnesses at the rear of the ignition switch. 2. Locate the appropriate wires exiting the ignition switch and immobilizer receiver. The wire colors are listed in the wiring color guide. 3. Wire the 555D as shown in the wiring diagram.
