Download1988-94 Models See Figures 1 and 2 Remove the steering wheel. 1. Fig. Fig. 1: Installing the lock cylinder. Fig. Fig. 2: Ignition switch Remove the turn signal switch. It is not necessary to completely remove the switch from the column. Pull the switch rearward far enough to slip it over the end of the shaft, but do not pull the harness out of the column. 2. Turn the lock to Run. 3. If necessary, remove the ignition key. 4. If equipped, remove the buzzer switch assembly. 5. Remove the lock retaining screw and remove the lock cylinder. 6. WARNING If the retaining screw is dropped on removal, it may fall into the column, requiring complete disassembly of the column to retrieve the screw. SERVICE INFORMATION If you encounter vehicles that exhibit the above conditions, refer to SI for the appropriate DTC(s) set. If no trouble is found, the cause may be due to an ECM ground terminal that has corroded with rust over time. Inspect the main engine wiring harness ground terminal (G103) for this condition. The wire terminal (G103) attaches either to the front or to the rear of the right side cylinder head, depending on the model year of the Full Size Pickup and/or Utility Trucks. If the ECM ground terminal has been found to be corroded, then follow the service procedure outlined in this bulletin to correct the corrosion issue. ALARM/SIREN POSITION Position the compact alarms and the sirens in the engine compartment, under the battery support.
CENTRAL UNIT POSITION Position the modular systems and the modules under the dashboard on the drivers side.
POWER SUPPLY + 30: connect to the free faston at position 5 on the front part of the fuse box. – 31: connect with a ring terminal to one of the terminals coming out of the original power supply on the left lateral side, drivers side.
IGNITION WIRE + 15/54: connect to the YELLOW/BLACK wire of the 6 way brown connector of the fuse box.
DIRECTION INDICATORS Connect to the 1,5 mm2 GREEN/BLUE and YELLOW/GREEN wire located in the 20 way green connector at the centre of the fuse box.
