DTC P0442 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Small Leak Detected

Filed Under (Other Manuals) by admin on 17-01-2014

Download DTC P0442 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Small Leak Detected Refer to Engine Controls Routing Diagram, EVAP Control System Overview . System Description This DTC tests the evaporative emission (EVAP) system for a small leak. The control module monitors the fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor signal to determine the vacuum decay rate. At an appropriate time, the control module turns the EVAP canister purge valve ON and the EVAP vent valve ON. This allows the engine to draw a vacuum on the EVAP system. At a calibrated time, or vacuum level, the control module turns the EVAP canister purge valve OFF, sealing the system, and monitors the FTP sensor input in order to determine the EVAP system vacuum decay. If the control module detects a leak larger than a calibrated amount, this DTC sets. The following table illustrates the relationship between the ON and OFF states, and the Open or Closed states of the EVAP canister purge and vent valves.… Read More

Filed Under (Chevrolet (Chevy)) by admin on 21-12-2013

Download 1996 Chevrolet Chevy K Pickup – 4WD | Chevy Pickup, GMC Pickup, Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon (VIN C/K) Service Manual DTC P1351 Ignition Coil Control Circuit High Voltage. Circuit Description The enhanced ignition system uses the crank sensor in order to provide the timing input to the VCM. The VCM uses this reference pulse in order to determine the individual ignition spark timing for each cylinder. Once the VCM calculates the ignition timing, the ignition coil module on the IC circuit receives the timing signal. Each timing pulse received by the ignition coil module on the IC circuit triggers the coil module in order to operate the ignition coil. The secondary ignition voltage is induced, and then the secondary ignition voltage is sent to the distributor for distribution to each spark plug. This DTC is a type A DTC. The IC signal voltage ranges from about 0.5 volt to 4.5 volts.… Read More

Programming the SWI-7 to control the new aftermarket head unit: After terminating the red, black and green wires the interface is ready to be programmed. First check that the IR remote that was supplied with the new head unit works properly. If the remote does not properly control the head unit, the interface cannot be programmed. Weak batteries in the remote my cause programming errors, even if the remote seems to operate properly. 1) Move the GM-Ford select switch on the side of the SWI-7 to the correct position depending on the make of vehicle you are working on. 2) Turn on the ignition to supply power to the SWI-7 and the steering wheel/ rear seat radio controls.… Read More
