2003 BMW 325I Sport Wagon Check engine light on and fault codes stored

Download 2002 BMW 325I 2.5L 2003 BMW 325I Sport Wagon 2.5L, Eng Des M54, USA Customer Concern: Check engine light on and fault codes stored. Vehicle running normally. Tests/Procedures: 1. Based upon stored fault codes for secondary air system, there is little or no flow of secondary air into engine. Typical causes for this issue are failed secondary air pumps and/or secondary air check valves. Secondary air pump should operate under normal circumstances when vehicle is first started to perform system test. Pump will normally be heard running when standing in front right corner of vehicle. 2. The secondary air pump is located in the right front of engine compartment. A secondary air pump relay located in the glove box is controlled by the engine control module and sends power to the secondary air pump. 3. Air pump can be disconnected and supplied with power and ground at pump to verify operation is possible.… Read More

1993 Ford Escort FUEL PUMP CIRCUIT (RELAY & INERTIA SWITCH)

Download 1993 Ford Escort G – TESTS W/CODES – EEC-IV (1.9L)’ ’1993 ENGINE PERFORMANCE Ford Motor Co. – Self-Diagnostics – EEC-IV. CIRCUIT TEST J – FUEL PUMP CIRCUIT (RELAY & INERTIA SWITCH) Diagnostic Aids When ignition switch is in the ON or START position, the PCM connects FUEL PUMP circuit (PCM terminal No. 22) to ground. The fuel pump relay is energized and electrical current flows to the fuel pump. If PCM does not receive ignition PIP signal within 2 seconds, FUEL PUMP circuit is opened and fuel pump operation is terminated. Perform this test when instructed by QUICK TEST or CIRCUIT TEST AA. This test is only intended to diagnose: * Fuel pump relay. * Inertia Fuel Shutoff (IFS) switch. * Wiring harness circuits (B+, VPWR, FUEL PUMP, GND and POWER-TO-PUMP). * Faulty Powertrain Control Module (PCM). 1998 Acura 3.5RL ENGINE PERFORMANCE Basic Diagnostic Procedures

Download 1. Remove fuel tank filler cap. Listen for fuel pump operation noise at fuel tank filler. Fuel pump should operate for 2 seconds after ignition switch is turned on. If fuel pump operates as specified, fuel pump is okay. If fuel pump does not operate as specified, go to next step. 2. Turn ignition switch off. Remove rear seat or trunk floor to gain access to fuel pump connector. Disconnect fuel pump connector. Disconnect PGM-FI main relay connector. Connect a fused jumper wire between PGM-FI main relay connector FUEL PUMP fuse side terminal and fuel pump side terminal. See L – WIRING DIAGRAMS article. 3. Turn ignition switch on. Using a voltmeter connected to ground, check for battery voltage at fuel pump harness side connector. See L – WIRING DIAGRAMS article. If battery voltage is not present, check harness between fuel pump and FUEL PUMP fuse. Repair as necessary. If battery voltage is present, check fuel pump ground.… Read More

2000-2003 Ford Focus 2.0L Zetec 21-450 COLD AIR SYSTEM Installation Instructions

Download The AEM Cold Air System differs from all others in several ways. We take the inlet air from outside of the engine compartment where the inlet air is considerably cooler than the hot underhood air. The cooler inlet air temperature translates to more power during the combustion process because cool air is denser than warm air. AEM has conducted extensive inlet air temperature studies and we have seen temperature reductions of up to 50 degrees by pulling air from outside of the engine compartment. The air mass flow to the engine is increased because of the increased airflow and reduced inlet temperature, which translates to more power. The AEM Cold Air Systems are 50 states Street Legal (some models and years still pending) and come with complete instructions for ease of installation. Read and understand these instructions BEFORE attempting to install this product. 1) Getting started a) Make sure vehicle is parked on a level surface.… Read More

1995 Nissan-Datsun Maxima Water Pump: Service and Repair

Download When removing water pump assembly, be careful not to get coolant on drive belt. Water pump cannot be disassembled and should be replaced as a unit. After Installing water pump, connect hose and clamp securely, then check for leaks using radiator cap tester. 1.Drain coolant from drain plugs on radiator and both sides of cylinder block. 2.Remove drain plug on cylinder block. 3.Remove right side engine mounting, mounting bracket and nuts. 4.Remove drive belts and idler pulley bracket. 5.Remove chain tensioner cover and water pump cover. 6.Pushing timing chain tensioner sleeve, apply a stopper pin so it does not return. Then remove the chain tensioner assembly. 7.Remove the 3 water pump fixing bolts. Secure a gap between water pump gear and timing chain, by turning crankshaft pulley 2O° backwards. 8.Put M8 bolts to two M8-threaded holes out of 3 water pump fixing bolt holes. 9.Tighten M8 bolts by turning half turn alternately until they reach timing chain rear case.… Read More
