Borla Performance Cat-Back™ Exhaust System (Part number 140283) has been designed for the 2007-2008 Honda Civic SI sedan equipped with a 2.0L 4 cylinder engine, front wheel and a manual transmission. Borla Performance Cat-Back™ Exhaust System (Part number 140284) has been designed for the 2007-2008 Honda Civic SI coupe equipped with a 2.0L 4 cylinder engine, front wheel and a manual transmission.
Original Exhaust System Removal : Note: With a used vehicle, we suggest a penetrating spray lubricant to be applied liberally to all exhaust fasteners and allowing a significant period of time for the chemical to lubricate the threads before attempting to disassemble. 1. Unbolt the flange located just in front of the rear muffler. 2. Lubricate all the hangers and rubber isolators. 3. Using a muffler stand or an additional person to hold the rear muffler into position, remove the hangers from the rubber isolators and remove the rear muffler from the vehicle as shown in figure 1. 4. Unbolt the flange located just behind the catalytic converter and save hardware for installation of your new Borla Exhaust System. 5. Using a muffler stand or an additional person to hold the front muffler assembly into position, remove the hangers from the rubber isolators and remove the front muffler from the vehicle as shown in figure 2.
Borla Performance Cat-Back ™ Exhaust System Installation : 1. Using the original hardware, place the front pipe assembly into position as shown in figure 3 making sure hanger is installed into the rubber isolator. Hand tighten the hardware for now. 2. Place a clamp over the expanded end of the front muffler assembly and set it into position as shown in figure 4 making sure to install the hangers into the rubber isolators. Do Not tighten the clamp. 3. Place a clamp over the expanded end of rear muffler assembly and set it into position as shown in figure 5 making sure to install the hangers into the rubber isolators. Do Not tighten the clamp. 4. Check your exhaust system for proper clearance under the vehicle and also for tip alignment. 5. Once position has been determined to be correct, tighten the Accuseal™ clamp to 32-35 ft. lbs. making sure the clamps openings are not over any of the notches in the pipes. Tighten the flange hardware to 18-22 ft. lbs.
